Catch Nyale Festival

Catch nyale Festival is held every five days after the full moon. Usually falls in February and March.
The core event in this festival is to catch nyale or marine worms appear only once a year in certain localities on the southern coast of Lombok island. Nyale will appear in the middle of the night until the wee hours until morning.

If you are lucky, you'll get a lot nyale which, according to research by experts, nyale have high protein content and is able to release a substance that can kill germs.


Many visitors who come to the island of Lombok from different areas just to witness the boisterous atmosphere and crowded when capturing nyale. At this festival atmosphere of togetherness in which people seem to mix into each other in a massive search nyale.
Anyone is also allowed to participate to search these sea worms or nyale at this location. 




Peresean

Peresean is a fight between two men armed with a stick blade paddle is made of rattan with leather shield from cow / buffalo. Peresean also part of traditional ceremonies on the island of Lombok and are included in the dance arts Sasak tribe. Culture peresean shows courage and agility of a fighter or also called pepadu.


Each pepadu / players who will compete to take a battering shield with blade made of rattan, in the games is led by the referee, there are two kinds of umpires, referees are the edge and the center referee. In general, the fighter who fought by a referee has the rules by using the rounds system, and each spouse to fight for five rounds. This Peresean addition of rattan sticks used by each pepadu, there is also a musical accompaniment that will give you the spirit of the combatants.


Musical instruments used as accompaniment of gongs, a pair of drums, rincik / cymbals, Kajar and flute.

Peresean often also appear to welcome the guests or tourists who come to visit the island of Lombok. After the match finished among the combatants will be embraced not hold a grudge. 






Oncer Dance

Oncer Dance is a creation of then Muhammad Tahir of Puyung Lombok Tengah village in 1960. This dance is a dance together which consisted of three groups of six or eight people carrier called kenceng kenceng dancers, two men carrying a drum called the dancers drums, and one person called a dancer petuk, petuk carrier. Each group brought their own movements.



Oncer can dance danced by both men and women, but the role one plays the role of men. Can be played at the arena or on the stage of the day and night.

Oncer dance are closely related with the Gamelan Drum Beleq. Beleq drum beaten while dancing with a unique movement. Gamelan Drum Beleq numerous in the island of Lombok.

This dance consists of three parts including:

- Motion Lizard Ngengos
- Motion Rebek taping
- Motion Tereng Repoq
- Motion Tindoq
- Motion Cempaka Panclang
- Motion Keroton Kombol
- Motion Sandal Kebak

After the dance ended, the dance will be closed with respect hersap sate together in the formation by placing both hands clasped in front of the face.
